Marten, mink, fisher, squirrels, wolverines, coyotes, wolves, were and are hunted or trapped for their furs. None were for food.

The Burke family in this picture is holding up their pelts that are ready for sale.

Fur was sold at the Old Hudson Bay Company at the 0ld Fort, or to a fur buyer. If fur was not worth very much it was used for trim or clothing.
