The plan for this page is to link Cree and Slavey text to sound files giving correct pronounciation of the words, The initial implementation of linked sound files proved technically unsatisfactory. While technical problems are being overcome the links have been disabled. About the Speakers Nora Elsie Capot-Blanc Duntra [Cree] I am a Fort Nelson Indian Band member. I am the Cree Culture and Language teacher at Chalo Elementary School. I enjoy sharing the language, and speak it fluently. Some of my survival skills are identifying and using herbal plants, teaching with the medicine wheel, and making dry meat. I love nature, and walking the red road. I also wanted to share that I am friends of Bill and Bob, and I enjoy that journey. One message that I would like to send out to young people is to “Stay in school”, it will open a lot of doors for you now and in the future.   Florence Michel [Slavey] I am the Slavey Culture teacher at Chalo Elementary School. I am also a Fort Nelson Indian Band member. I enjoy sharing our culture, helping the kids learn things like, their language, making dry meat, beading and being busy with youth and the elders.
